Tomato pie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tomato pie is a pizza-like food that is common in Italian-American populations, usually served at room temperature instead of hot.
Tomato pie is technically not pizza: the word pizza means "beak" in Italian and describes the beak-like shape of the more common Neapolitan slice of pizza.
Tomato Pie is most commonly found in the Northeastern United States, especially in the Italian bakeries of Utica, NY and Philadelphia, PA.

The other six chefs entering used tomatoes in all kinds of ways: fried green tomatoes served with fish; smoked tomatoes in a marinara sauce for ravioli; a green tomato soup; roasted tomatoes with veal; and a sweet tomato dessert pie with cinnamon, nutmeg, pecans and raisins, as well as the prize-winning entrée Tomato Pie.

Where I grew up near Trenton, NJ it was always tomato pie.
But remember also that, in Trenton at least, tomato pie is distinct from pizza, the distinction being the use of smushed canned tomatoes on the pie rather than a pizza sauce.
Even in Trenton, though, many people don't make the distinction, but there are quite a few places that make both pizza and something called some variation of "traditional Trenton tomato pie".
