Tomb of Dracula - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marvel published a four-issue Tomb of Dracula miniseries, reuniting Wolfman and Colan, under its Epic Comics imprint in 1991, and revived Dracula and his foes in the short-lived Nightstalkers and Blade series in the 1990s.
Lilith, the Daughter of Dracula, an immortal vampire who was cursed to never die until her father was permanently destroyed; when slain, she was reborn into the body of a woman who was full of hate.
When Dracula's origin was revised in Bizarre Adventures #33, Nimrod was no longer the true Lord of the Vampires; instead, he was a mentally imbalanced servant of Varnae, and had been empowered by his master as a test of Dracula's worthiness.

Dracula - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dracula (1897) is a novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, and the name of the world's most famous vampire character.
Dracula is an epistolary novel, written as collection of diary entries, telegrams, and letters from the characters, as well as fictional clippings from the Whitby and London newspapers.
Dracula may also be viewed as a novel about the struggle between tradition and modernity at the fin de siècle.

Dracula (Transylvania, Lord of the Vampires)
Dracula was opposed by the unfriendly new Sultan, Mohammed the Conqueror.
Dracula was born in either November or December of 1431 His early education was in the hands of his mother - either a Transylvanian noblewoman or a Moldavian princess - until he came of an age where his father began to train him in the arts of war.
Dracula, ever the cunning politician, swore allegiance to Hunyadi and was awarded his father's old Transylvanian duchies of Faragas and Almas in return for swearing to oust Vladislav II from power as soon as the opportunity arose.

 Tomb of Dracula
Allegedly based on the Marvel comics' series of the same name from the 70s, Tomb of Dracula starts with a band of devil worshippers coming together to desecrate a church and to perform an unholy ceremony to sacrifice a young woman to the prince of darkness.
Since none of them knows any better, they think that Dracula really is the right guy and give him the woman, with whom he promptly flies off.
However, Dracula is strangely attracted to her and decides to make her his wife rather than his nightly feast.

Essential Tomb Of Dracula Vol. 2 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
As Dracula, Lord of the Undead continues to prey upon humanity while battling the vampire hunters that continue to seek his destruction, we see his efforts to discover the source of a draining of his vampire powers leads him to America, where he clashes once again with the evil Doctor Sun.
Dracula's destruction at the hands of Doctor Sun was also a very effective visual, as was the scene where Blade is confronted by his evil double.
I mean it's hard to look upon these characters as credible threats to Dracula when they continual pass by the opportunities presented to them to rid the world of his evil presence, and there is something intrinsically wrong with the idea that they would join forces with Dracula to battle an even greater threat.

 Abraham Van Helsing (Dracula foe)
(Tomb of Dracula I#30 (fb)) - In 1862, Dracula was persuaded by Lyza Strang, the wife of a political rival of Otto von Bismarck, to murder her husband so that Bismarck, whom she had fallen in love with, would become Chancellor of Prussia.
Once again, Claremont slightly ran afoul of Dracula continuity, as the story is told in the from of a diary entry by Van Helsing dated February 5, 1876-- with Van Helsing noting that his wife died a few days ago.
Tomb of Dracula I#30’s Bismarck story makes it clear that Van Helsing had become a vampire hunter by the 1860’s,as the story took place in 1862.

Essential Tomb of Dracula v1 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
After he's brought back to life, Dracula emerges in the 1970s to find himself in a continual battle with a group of determined vampire hunters who are looking to bring his reign of terror to an end.
I mean the shambling brutes, rotting corpses that spring to life, and even Dracula himself are all presented in their full nightmarish glory.
I also found myself growing a bit disappointed whenever the book shifted its attention back to these vampire hunters, as with the notable exception of Blade who receives a fairly memorable tussle with Dracula toward the end of the volume, the group that is dogging Dracula's heels is a rather dull collection of stereotypes.

The Tomb of Dracula - Commodore 64 version by Piti
is a simple graphics adventure in which you attempt to find your way through a tomb haunted by ghouls and zombies and reach a staircase leading to Dracula's treasure.
The graphics representations are drawn in mosaics of character blocks and wouldn't frighten a two-year old (...) It's about as skilful and thrilling as being sick on the floor.
Tomb of Dracula is very boring -- it's written in BASIC, the graphics are poor and I didn't like it." CRASH, issue 3, March 1984

Dracula (1980) (Yami no Teio Kyuketsuki Dracula)
Meanwhile Frank Drake, the cocky present-day descendant of Dracula, is recruited by a wheelchair-ridden Hans Harker and crossbow-wielding Rachel Van Helsing to form a vampire-hunting team.
The bizarrely contrived plot includes not only Dracula, but vampire hunters, Satanists, appearances from Satan himself, rival vampires, zombies and Dracula's son who is divinely raised from the dead and turned into some sort of superhero-come-avatar-of-Good.
In one of its better parts the film constructs an origin story for Dracula, identifying him in all but name with Vlad the Impaler, and making him a good person who was corrupted in the name of defending his homeland to be resurrected by Satan.

This Japanese adaptation of the classic 1970s "Tomb of Dracula" American comic book series is pretty much forgotten today, and it's easy to see why.
Not that it has not its interesting points, like a vulnerable Dracula becoming human again and trying to recover his vampiric condition, but everything is so underdeveloped that it's ultimately worthless.
And, alas, despite it being based on "Tomb of Dracula", no Blade here, just the usual descendants of Van Helsing, Harker, and Dracula himself (and it's obvious from the beginning which one of the vampire hunters will eventually bite the dust).

Tomb of Dracula #1, the company's first use of vampires since the Code had come into effect (and no relation to either a Dracula series Dell Comics had done a few years earlier or another Hanna-Barbera was to do a few years later), had a cover date of April, 1972.
During the first few years of its run, Tomb of Dracula had a companion title, Dracula Lives, which was published in magazine format (i.e., packaged like Vampirella or Mad).
A vampire slayer named Blade was first seen in the 10th issue of Tomb of Dracula (July, 1973, many years before Buffy made "Vampire Slayer" a recognized category of fantasy hero).

Marvel is releasing a new tomb of dracula comic, right now it's only set for a 6 issues.
So far it looks like it has nothing to do with the events of the old Tomb of Dracula, its a completely new story.
I don't think they just changed their minds with issue 3 to make it only a total of 4 (and if they did it intentionally, they'd have changed the others to make them synchronize).

WereWolf by Night and Man-Thing were better Marvel horror books in my opinion, but ToD was pretty decent considering the time it came out.
And, I agree, they are pretty decent, and especially nice to read comics from the 70's, especially the more obscure ones.
