Tombstone is a 1993 Western movie written by Kevin Jarre and directed by George P. Cosmatos.
She had been in Tombstone quite some time with Behan, off and on, prior to Wyatt Earp's arrival, as well as having lived with a Tombstone attorney for a time.
The movie depicts 51 shots being fired in roughly 128 seconds during the Gunfight at the OK Corral.

Tombstone grew to become the largest city west of the Mississippi, and was a very affluent community—then and now "The Town Too Tough To Die"!

Tombstone - 1993 feature film starring Kurt Russell & Val Kilmer
The movie opened up with a dramatic voice describing the town of Tombstone's early years, he then described the cowboys as the first known members of organized crime, who were also known by the red sashes they wore!
The film which I had hoped would finally separate the true facts from the other fictional movies that preceded it, was once again falling to the almighty dollar of Hollywood sensationalism at it's worst.
However, I was cast in "Showtime at the OK Corral" that aired with Tombstone's cable debut on Showtime.

Tombstone is well-acted by its ensemble cast, in spite of the most distracting (if authentic) facial hair this side of Gettysburg.
Tombstone's one glaring misstep is spending any time at all on the relationship between Wyatt and a traveling actor played by Dana Delaney.
Delaney is lovely, but her character is just a distraction (as, unfortunately, are all of the female characters in Tombstone), never adding anything in particular to the story or to Wyatt's character.

This didn't help the reputation of the movie, because Cosmatos' name is usually associated with films that feature large amounts of action scenes and hardly anything else.
Therefore, with Cosmatos in charge, all attempts to accurately recreate historical events in Tombstone 1881 were thrown by the window.
Cosmatos was interested for spectacular action scenes and hardly anything else and the pace of film reflects his desire to quickly wrap up the boring stuff like character development or background of the conflict.

The movie opens with Wyatt Earp trying to put his violent past behind him, living happily in Tombstone with his brothers and the woman (Dana Delany) who puts his soul at ease.
This is the kind of movie that perpetuates the "Legend of Wyatt Earp", but it's also the kind of movie that grown men still quote liberally with big smiles on their faces more than a decade after it's initial release.
Tombstone is in many ways the classic western, bright(read Technicolor), loaded with plenty of humor, plenty of action, and several big name stars.

After watching the 1993 movie, Tombstone, and living right here in Tombstone, I must admit that I am tired of everybody glorifying Wyatt and leaving Virgil out of the picture.
It was Virgil who yelled at the cowboys to put their hands in the air, not Wyatt as he didn't want a gunfight if he could have avoided it, the same way law enforcement thinks today.
During his lifetime, Virgil farmed, drove a stagecoach, drove a mail route, was a prospector and always involved with marshals, sheriffs and constables in one capacity or another.

But here it is anyway, "Tombstone," which apparently wants to make history by giving us history.
The story focuses on Wyatt after he has retired as sheriff of Dodge City, traveling to Tombstone with his brothers Virgil (Sam Elliott) and Morgan (Bill Paxton) and their wives to settle down, play poker and maybe open a saloon.
"Tombstone" is rated R for considerable violence, along with some profanity, vulgar language, drug abuse and implied sex.

In the movie "Tombstone" (1993, starring Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp) is arguably one of the greatest contemporary western films of our time and undoubtedly a classic in the western genre, by all measures.
Unfortunately, much of the research done for the film was very poorly done for a big budget movie that was intended to be an "epic" film, from the very start.
As to the question, "who cares?"...I love "Tombstone" and feel it is truly a classic American Western and I appreciate that they took the time to attempt to incorporate the game of faro into the movie for the sake of historical accuracy.

Tombstone, a movie made about the legendary Wyatt Earp and the O.K. Corral, is our savior.
The bad parts of this movie are completely overshadowed by the excellent parts (great shoot-outs, excellent fight scenes, Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday, and Sam Elliot as one of Wyatt's brothers).
Since this movie (which may earn an Oscar nomination for Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday), is now on video, it should not be missed by any fan of the true western.
