Topic: Tommy DeSimone

Thomas DeSimone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thomas "Tommy" DeSimone (c1950 - 1979) was a New York gangster and an associate of the Lucchese crime family.
DeSimone was alleged to have taken part in the December 1978 Lufthansa heist from JFK International Airport, the largest robbery in US history at the time, with the loot reputed to be almost $6,000,000, only a fraction of which was recovered.
DeSimone is reputed to have murdered Parnell Steven Edwards (known as 'Stax', sometimes spelt 'Stacks'), who was found shot to death in his Queens apartment after bungling his task of disposing of the getaway vehicle used in the heist.

Henry Hill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hill, Burke, and DeSimone were entrusted by Vario to steal trucks, plan airport heists (targets included Lufthansa and Air France), and carry out mob killings.
DeSimone served jail time in Atlanta, Georgia, as he was supposed to fly to Florida instead of Hill, but Vario decided to send Hill instead at the last moment, therefore, DeSimone had only a small part in the beating of the gambler.
Eventually, Vario discovered that DeSimone had committed the afore-mentioned murder; he was set up by Vario to believe he was to be "made", and on what he thought was his inauguration day, he was killed.

DeansPlanet.Com <--- The Greatest Website Of All Time ---> Jeremy The Loner: Interview With Actor Dean Cameron
Sometime in 1970, Tommy DeSimone (who was known to have an explosive temper) got into a petty argument one night with Mafioso Ronald Jerrothe, an argument that led to Jerrothe's murder some two weeks later.
At that point, DeSimone was lied to and told that he was to be "made." Tommy was excited at this prospect, but he never returned from the ceremony...
Tommy also didn't do all of the things he was credited with doing in the film; some of them were carried out by Paulie's son Lenny (who was still alive when the film was shot).

As an adult, Henry and his friend Tommy DeVito (Pesci) conspire along with Conway to steal much of the billions of dollars in cargo passing through Idlewild Airport (later JFK).
As the years go by and Henry earns Cicero's trust, his compadres become more daring (and therefore dangerous)--Conway's excessive love of truck hijacking and grand theft is bad enough, but DeVito is nearly psychotic in his need to prove himself through violence.
