Like all other James Bond movies, "Tomorrow Never Dies" is pure popcorn entertainment, a thrilling, full-throttle, roller coaster ride and the standard for all action-adventure movies to measure up to.
Hardly surprising, one of his main utilities in "Tomorrow Never Dies" is a cell phone like none other, and a fully armed, remote-controlled car with a small video display in the remote control, highly reminiscent of current palm top computers.
"Tomorrow Never Dies" comes as a gorgeous dual layered DVD from MGM Home Video, containing both the original theatrical 2.35:1 anamorphic enhanced widescreen transfer and the pan&scan version.

In the case of Tomorrow Never Dies, however, the "score" album includes neither the main title song, sung by Sheryl Crow, nor the closing song, "Surrender," sung by K. Lang.
With the release of Tomorrow Never Dies, it became immediately apparent that the score was something a little different, but very much in the Bond tradition.
I have never been a fan of Sheryl Crow, and my first impression of "Tomorrow Never Dies" was that it was mediocre at best.

Tomorrow Never Dies: (Arnold, David Arnold) After a devastatingly disappointing score by Eric Serra for Goldeneye a few years ago, David Arnold follows with an excellent tribute to the entire series of Bond scores.
Arnold did his homework with Tomorrow Never Dies --the Bond Theme is integrated very well into almost every track, which, in my belief, is the way Bond scores should be.
Tomorrow Never Dies: (David Arnold) Because the post-production schedule for the film had been so disorganized, the music for Tomorrow Never Dies had to be scored in small portions over a matter of many months (much to the angst of David Arnold).

IGN: 007: Tomorrow Never Dies Review
Tomorrow Never Dies had a lot going for it: the Bond name recognition (for marketing); Rare's phenomenal game boosting everyone's idea that the next game would be even better (or just as good); and established game ideas that worked, namely cool gadgets, stealthy gameplay, and a stellar lead character, James Bond.
The animations for dying enemies are not varied at all, but enemy AI is totally transparent, too.
It's unfortunate that TND must be compared to Goldeneye, but if you wanted to put your money down for a Bond game, and you had to pick from the two, you'd expect an honest answer.

And having seen "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" earlier in the year, the creatively-bankrupt conventions of the spy genre are glaring when viewing TND, almost to the point of being campy (a subtitle in the opening sequence reads "A terrorist arms bazaar somewhere near the Russian border").

(Curiously enough, it's never heard in the movie, which would benefit from this kind of headlong energy.) It's far savvier than the leaden version of the Mission Impossible theme by those guys from U2, with a guitar line straight out of Shaft and a soundbite from Goldfinger that makes me giggle.
Tomorrow Never Dies is actually pretty inventive, upping the ante with set piece after set piece until it finally collapses in the boring piffle that is the climactic showdown against nefarious media mogul Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce).
My favorite is the long sequence that begins with both Bond and Yeoh held captive at the top of Pryce's Bangkok headquarters and winds up with them blazing through the city streets on a motorcycle (still handcuffed together) with a very low-flying helicopter in close pursuit.
