Tony Ianno, PC, B.Sc (born January 2, 1957) is a former Liberal Party of Canada MP.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Ianno graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Ianno has long held a seat in the diverse riding of Trinity—Spadina, facing competition from Olivia Chow in the 1997 election and Michael Valpy in the 2000 election.

She almost beat Ianno in 1997 and today has greater fame due to Layton, there is also an NDP mayor in Toronto and the NDP is running on a platform tailor made for urban ridings just like T-S. Ianno has the added baggage of Liberal scandals and the general desire for change to deal with.

A third failure for Chow would probably keep her out of Federal politics in the future and with Ianno in office, there is always the chance that he might precipitate a scandal that would affect Martin's government.

Ultimately it seems that Ianno retained his lead in the condo district but Chow managed to improve from third to second in those polls which resulted in her taking the riding with 3000+ votes.
According to most of the polls, the NDP candidate, Olivia Chow, is leading the Liberal candidate, Tony Ianno by a healthy margin.
