Born Hieu Ngoc Ma, he moved to Southern California in 1985 and became a regular fixture on the poker circuit.
Ma also plays the World Poker Tour and made the final table of the first season Pro-Celebrity Invitational Tournament, finishing in 5th place.
Ma now resides in South El Monte with his wife and two children.

The impression i get is that ma was well beyond the point of just making it by.
If Justin's right and you're a 17-16 favorite against Tony's very tight range when you flop a pair, then, if Tony gets full value when he has you beat, and you only get a bet on the flop and one later street when you beat him, it's still +EV to call, but close.
However if there is anyone, on this forum, who can do better against a tight player, it's you, with all the daytime hours you've put in....wait a minute, the last time I saw you play AQ out of posistion against a tight 3-better, you botched it big time.
