Tony was a war baby and had it not been for that world wide event, he would have no doubt been born in South East London, as were many members of his family.
Tony's father was in the Royal Air Force and consequently Tony and his mother followed him to where he was stationed.
Eventually, Tony and his parents moved to Surrey, and it was there that Tony began to act and write and like many teenagers of the day, he was affected by the beat of "Rock'n Roll" and a young man called Elvis.

Tony had just come up with his group and we had to throw out the anchor to keep from drifting too far away from the divers.
Tony suggested that we lift the anchor and drift in some but they didn’t want to do that so we just kept taking on more water and now diesel was mixing with the water and really smelling bad.
Tony and I didn’t have any plans as there were no guests at Posada until September 5th, so we all went and had a wonderful time.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Tony Phillips, who was arrested on drug charges during the recently completed season, has apparently played his final game for the Anaheim Angels.
Phillips, who is eligible for free agency but hasn't filed yet, was paid $1.8 million this year.
After Phillips was arrested Aug. 10 at an Anaheim motel, the Angels tried to suspend him with pay when he declined to enter a drug rehabilitation program under the auspices of the parent Walt Disney Co. That move was overturned by Major League Baseball and Phillips soon returned to the team's lineup.
