Robinson came to the pulpit of a church with an already well-established record and tradition of outreach and service to the community, both local and international.
When it comes to the heavy lifting in town -- looking after the needs of the impoverished and the homeless, being a center that speaks truth to power, ruffling feathers when the comfortable need to be afflicted -- I generally find the spiritual-minded to be in short supply.
