	Tony Warren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Tony Warren MBE (born 1936) is a British television scriptwriter, best known for creating the soap opera Coronation Street.
		Anticipating a short run for the series, Warren penned all thirteen episodes of the serial that ITV promised to air.
		When the show became a success, however, he continued to pen scripts for the programme until 1968, after which he retired.

		He wrote Episode 15, transmitted in January 1961, the first that was not written by Tony Warren.
		By the time he retired from writing in January 1988, he had written 305 episodes, plus one co-written script with Lal Sands in July 1974.
