Tony Windsor's Bogus Survey a stunt worthy of Evel Knievel
In particular, Mr Windsor's repeated attempts to attach credibility to his Bogus Survey are reminiscent of Mr Knievel's numerous attempts to jump across the Snake River Canyon- that is, doomed to failure.
Mr Windsor's credibility gulf is immediately apparent through the one-sided nature of his Survey and its blatant misrepresentation of the Government's policy on the further sale of Telstra.
Mr Windsor also ignores the power of governments to regulate to guarantee such technologies, a constitutional power which cannot be taken away, and conveniently overlooks that the Government already successfully regulates a raft of privately-owned phone companies such as Optus and AAPT.

Windsor's bribery claims supported by his staffers - National - www.smh.com.au
Allegations of electoral bribery made by the NSW independent politician, Tony Windsor, against the Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson, and Senator Sandy Macdonald were independently corroborated at a Senate inquiry yesterday into electoral rorts.
Mr Windsor's campaign manager, Stephen Hall, said a Tamworth businessman had offered inducements on behalf of the two National Party politicians for the independent MP to leave politics at a meeting on May 19 last year.
Tony Windsor said to Greg Maguire that he was offended by the suggestion, and that John Anderson and Sandy Macdonald and the National Party should also know better than to have the proposition put to him."

“Tony Windsor, the stoic Tamworth independent, meanwhile is being ignored in his attempts to keep alive his pursuit of the Nationals' leader, John Anderson,” Ramsey wrote.
Windsor and Maguire had been pushing for a national show venue for horses and livestock to be built in Tamworth, a project rejected two years ago by Anderson because of doubts about its viability.
Windsor did remove himself, and during the election campaign Anderson announced a $6 million payment for the centre, congratulating local Nationals for their work in supporting the project.

Windsor remains convinced that “if the September 11 terrorist attacks had not taken place, there would be two to three more independents in Canberra, making for a much closer federal parliament”.
And Windsor remains contemptuous of the National Party’s Senate preselection system, whereby people “who would never normally be elected to anything can brown-nose their way into office, have absolutely no idea what their constituency thinks and feels, are bone lazy and are always on the sniffer trail of any available overseas trip”.
