  Review: Toonstruck
Drew has created a very successful children's cartoon show called (and this one actually is funny) "The Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun Show." As the story opens, Lloyd's boss (the always-amusing Ben Stein) orders him in no uncertain terms to go create more cute, cuddly, unthreatening bunnies or he'll get fired.
I have to say that the animation is absolutely first-rate, and the wildly colorful backgrounds have a deranged charm.
I had a hard time getting Toonstruck, mostly because I simply didn't care about the plot.

  A Force for Good
Toonstruck is representative of an era when adventure games, while remaining true to their origins, underwent a bit of a makeover, introducing simplified control systems and SVGA (640x480 - woo!) graphics.
In fact, Toonstruck's biggest problem is with something that it tries to do a little bit differently - occasionally you are faced with situations where the solution is perfectly obvious but an act of superhuman dexterity with the mouse is required to progress.
The point, in case you were wondering, is this: while it may not scale the heights of greatness, Toonstruck is still a worthy and enjoyable game, engrossing and occasionally amusing.

But what's great about Toonstruck is that neither of these drawbacks matters in the slightest; the designers have made a great game by creating an experience that is entertaining and challenging but doesn't become too frustrating or too easy.
Toonstruck is such a well-crafted game it's hard not to enjoy yourself.
In the end, though, it's the puzzles that make the game so great, and finishing Toonstruck only made me wish there was a sequel looming on the horizon.

For the many games that tout humor and gameplay, Toonstruck is far and away the best of the newer ones.
Brilliant in every way, Toonstruck combines live action (mostly in the form of your character, played by Christopher Lloyd) and computer animation, humor, good music, and some challenging (though always fair) puzzles to wonderful effect.
With the addition of an excellent all-star cast of actors providing voices for the majority of the game's characters, the resulting game is very atmospheric, very enjoyable to play, and very funny, all without sacrificing some of the best storytelling and gameplay in years.

With zany characters, much of the humour also captures the essence of those cartoons which always seemed to me to operate on two levels: slapstick comedy for the younger kids and witty dialogue and anarchic humour for us older ones.
So it is with this game, though I should give fair warning to parents who may be contemplating buying Toonstruck for their children that the humour is a little dark at times.
Toonstruck possesses a relatively nonlinear path, and is peppered with shots of irreverent, sometimes adult, humor.

Toonstruck - PC Review - Coming Soon Magazine
Toonstruck, at least in Europe, is recommended for players aged 15 or above, which should indicate that there might be some scenes or dialogues that are not appropriate for small children.
It is, to a certain extent, the case for a few scenes of the game which show a bit of violence, and for some sentences with a double meaning, but no doubt, there is way more violence on TV than in Toonstruck.
Regarding the difficulty of the game, Toonstruck can be rated as average, offering at least 20 hours of game play for a good adventure player and more for novices.
