Tor Johnson (October 19, 1903 – May 12, 1971) was a professional wrestler known as The Super Swedish Angel, and occasional actor.
Johnson, born on October 19, 1903, in Sweden, the son of Karl J. Johansson and Lovissa Petersson, was a large man, weighing 300 pounds (136 kg).
Tor died on May 12, 1971 at the San Fernando Valley Hospital in San Fernando, California, from congestive heart failure, at the age of 67.

Tor Johnson was born in Sweden around the turn of the century and by the early 1930's was barnstorming the United States as a professional wrestler, usually under the name of the Super Swedish Angel.
Johnson, in fact, would appear in Lugosi's final three films and he was a friend of the horror film great in the final years of his life.
Tor Johnson and Vampira made quite a ghostly team as they wandered through the film's spooky graveyard although it was not until 1959 that the film was finally nationally issued, as Plan Nine From Outer Space.

So Tor is ambling across the desert with his precious briefcase, when all of sudden (you would have thought this would be in the Yucca Flats newsletter) an atomic bomb gets dropped on Tor's bald head.
Tor and the kids hook up and eventually the kids escape his cave and then Jim and Joe show up to shoot Tor, but Tor gets up and throws Joe down and then trips and falls and lands on top of Jim.
Tor gets shot some more times, then we see a brief instance where Tor's shirt comes partway up exposing about an acre of his gut and the viewer shudders in horror for the only time during the entire movie.

However, the Kremlin have sent two agents to retrieve the briefcase and kill Javorsky, and a car chase begins with the Soviets shooting all the while as the defector is driven away.
There are some movie actors who get the chance to star in their own film all too rarely, but Tor Johnson, the lumbering heavy of a number of low budget horrors and science fiction movies, seized his opportunity with two enormous hands when The Beast of Yucca Flats came his way.
