DevMaster.net - Torque Game Engine - Engine Details
The Torque Game Engine (TGE) is a fully featured AAA game engine with award winning multi-player network code, seamless indoor/outdoor rendering engines, state of the art skeletal animation, drag and drop GUI creation, a built in world editor, and a C-like scripting language.
Torque comes in with full access to the source code, and you don't create a project around it, you work tightly into the engine source, so you can modify it to do whatever you are trying to do without going into ugly hacks that work half the time and make your game explode.
Torque's physics system is rather weak and for a lot of games you're going to need a rewrite, the graphics engine is extremely dated, TSE will resolve this but that's not out or near a useable state for most game types just yet.

 Torque Game Engine Introduction
With the game engine already built, a good engine, used in games like Tribes and Tribes 2, all I had to do would be modify the scripts, create my own models and textures, and I'd finally have a game I'd be happy with.
There's no why, no in depth coverage of what the engine is really capable of, just a simple brushing over it to help scripters modify an existing game and "make" their own.
TGE script is very similar in syntax to C, C++, Java and JavaScript, so if you've worked with any of these languages before, a lot of TGE script will be familiar to you.
