The tower has a total height of 288 meters and it is located in the Collserola mountain range which runs parallel to the Mediterranean Sea.The location is a place known as Turo de la Vilana and is situated 445 meters above sea level.
The Collserola Tower is the telecommunications tower built on the Collserola mountain range, on the Vilana hill, for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
It was designed by the English architect Norman Foster with the collaboration of the company Ove Arup & Partners, after their project had won a restricted competition organised by the Barcelona City Council in 1988.

The quarter is centred around the Plaça de Sant Jaume, a spacious square, the site of a busy market and one of the venues for the weekly dancing of the sardana.

After walking 5 long blocks, we reached Place de Lesseps and took the subway to the end station close to the foot of the more than 400 m high Tibidabo mountain, that can be seen from the whole city including our hotel.
Torre de Collserola, a 288m tall communication mast designed by the very famous British architect Norman Foster for the 1992 Olympics, was one of my favourite attractions of the whole Barcelona trip.
However, it was very hard to find it, no real signs show there it is and there is no walkway from the funiculare to the tower.
