Tory Reform Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most pro-European Conservative politicians of the last thirty years have at one time or another been associated with the Tory Reform Group, while no TRG member of note has struck a view that is more Eurosceptic than the official Conservative Party position.
The TRG is a constituent organisation of Conservative Mainstream alongside the Conservative Group for Europe and Parliamentary Mainstream, and all are run from shared offices in Westminster.
TRG members formed the core of the short lived Pro-Euro Conservative Party.

Conservative Party (UK) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Conservative Party is descended from the Tory Party, one of the two ruling parties of 18th and 19th Century British Politics, and its members are still commonly referred to as Tories.
Though they claim that the Thatcherite reforms of the 1980s which sought to lower rising inflation by radical measures (leading in part to higher unemployment) reversed a situation in Britain of relative economic decline, the Conservatives have yet to regain a reputation for economic competence.
The Tories more often than not formed the government from the accession of King George III (in 1760) until the Great Reform Act of 1832.

One group which must be considered for removal on that basis must surely be the Tory Reform Group, whose President is Kenneth Clarke MP.
It was at a Conservative student meeting at the 1992 Tory Party conference that towards the end of a meeting of eurosceptic speakers a group of young TRG members entered and stood in solid ranks at the back of the room, calling out insults to the platform and obstructing the view of those behind them.
IF there is a candidate for removal from the Conservative Party it is the Tory Reform Group and the debilitating corporatism which they have always represented and whose highest expression is in that European Union which is so detested by the British people.

On March 24, some leading Tories supported Hirst as the replacement candidate, because although he hadn't sat in the Paliament since 1987, he had the perfect clean-cut image: married father of three, accountant retired from partnership in a distinguished firm, elder in the Church of Scotland.
Martin had confessed to a past affair with Hirst while drunk in Bell's presence in 1995 at a Tory conference in Blackpool, so knowing that there could be substantiation, Bell -- who denies any personal interest -- says he felt bound to inform director of the party Roger Pratt of what was brewing.
Hirst himself received a call from his long-time personal friend Lord Mackay, warning him that a newspaper might have the story and that "a figure of 50,000 pounds has been mentioned." When Mackay asked Hirst if he were "bomb-proof," Hirst had to reassess his position.
