Toss bombing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Toss bombing (sometimes known as loft bombing) is a method of bombing where the attacking aircraft pulls upwards and releases its bomb load, giving the bomb additional forward velocity.
Although this might seem the direct opposite to dive bombing, where the plane pitches downwards to aim at its target, toss bombing is often performed with a short dive before the bomber raises its nose and releases its bomb.
Toss bombing is often used by pilots wishing to evade detection and/or who are dropping particularly powerful loads, such as nuclear weapons, on their targets.

Level bombing is the more difficult of the two to become successful at, but is easiest for the new pilot to practice.
The bomb falls forward at the same speed of the aircraft that drops it, give or take, so it should be hitting whatever is under you at the moment you hear it explode.
The true dive bombing aircraft in the game, such as the Stuka, are slow aircraft and come in high over a target out of flak range, make their dive bombing run, and use the speed from the dive to quickly get out of range again.

 DRIVING THE PIG
Toss bombing is the preferred low level delivery method for laser guided or electro-optically guided bombs, as the aircraft need not overfly the target.
The toss bombing low level delivery using radar and Pave Tack to support a laser guided munition is one of the most difficult delivery profiles in modern military aviation.
Flying the toss delivery is not a trivial task, as it involves in effect a semi-aerobatic manoeuvre under instrument conditions at 500 KIAS low level.

 Bombology--June 1990
By the end of the war, military airmen had developed simple bomb racks for larger bombs, which were fastened under the wings or fuselage of a plane.
But the bombs will tend to follow the sideways flight path of the aircraft at the release point, so the pilot has to aim to the side of the target to compensate.
Often, if there was fuel and time, the flight leader would drop one bomb, observe its impact point in relation to his aiming point, and then advise the rest of the flight on sight settings and offset aiming points.

The B.103 was designed to be fitted with two stores pylons under each wing, for a total of four, but also had a bomb bay, which was to accommodate four 450 kilogram (1,000 pound) bombs or a single nuclear weapon.
A conventional bomb bay was not regarded as suitable for high-speed low-level attack, and so the B.103 was given a rotating bomb bay door, with munitions attached to the door itself.
The bomb bay could also in principle accommodate a reconnaissance camera pack; a 2,000 liter (528 US gallon) ferry fuel tank; a cargo container; or a pack with twin Aden 30 millimeter cannon.

Dive bombing is basically releasing while diving, and level bombing is releasing while neither diving nor climbing.
I don't think that's a method of bombing...but a glide bomb is a bomb that has "built-in" aerodynamics giving it some lift so it can be released a good distance from target and be steered underway.
Glide bombing was a bombing method that used a shallower dive angel than dive-bombing.

Secondly, the standard bulky, heavy bomb displacing gear was replaced by a light, explosive device which literally blew the bomb clear.
Because of its ability to carry large bomb loads, absorb heavy ground fire, and fly for long periods at low altitude, the Skyraider was particularly suited for close-support missions.
