La tostada, como dicta el Real Decreto de 1979 en el punto 4 versículo 8, 1º de Juan, es toda aquella rodaja de pan que, tras haber sido calentada a no menos de 150º sufre una transformación de dentro hacia afuera que le hace cambiar su estado de reblandecido a endurecido.
Tostada tipo 1: es aquella que aprovechando un trozo de pan, generalmente tipo pistola, del día anterior se tuesta sobre una superfície metálica caliente.
Este ripo de tostada suele ser hecha generalmente por gente con pocas aspiraciones en su vida, gente en paro o simplemente tonta.
