The Tournament of Roses Parade was established in 1890 and is held on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California, eight miles (13 km) north-east of downtown Los Angeles-except if January 1 falls on a Sunday, in which case the parade occurs on January 2.
For the 2006 Tournament of Roses parade on January 2, winds with gusts up to 45 mph (72 km/h) and five inches (130 mm) of rain in the Pasadena area were predicted.
By the eleventh annual Tournament (1900), the town lot on which the activities were held was re-named Tournament Park, a large open area that is directly adjacent Pasadena's world-famous institution of higher learning, CalTech.

What I mean is that I did not know that the Tournament of Roses Parade was the biggest parade in the world.

TOR has better BS resistance and is a blooming machine - it starts little late in the spring though - likes to be warm.
Tournament of Roses is one of those must haves.
As an aside, most lavender/purple roses are flspot magnets, just by virtue of their collar, so this does not surprise me that the lovely Angel Face requires good culture and frequent spraying, but she is certainly worth if it you want her to live up to her name.

Just like I responded to this same review up on DCP and for the benefit of those that aren't familiar with Tournament of Roses Parade "qualifications" to enter, you all have to get out of the competition mind set of who is BETTER than another.
In case anyone cares why I know so much about TofR, I was born and raised in Pasadena, and marched the Rose Parade 9 years in a row with the Official Tournament of Roses Honor Band (2 as a trombone, 2 as drum major, and 5 as the head visual guy).
The country is broken up into regions as far as the Rose Parade selection...and 1 band from each (I think it's 13) region is selected every year to get a fair representation of the country.
