 | | As they do not need to gratify basic needs, self-actualizing individuals welcome desire and impulses as pleasurable tensions towards growth (B-needs), which, as they can never be completely satisfied, increase motivation and lead to self-actualization. |
 | | That is possible, mainly because, first, the experiences of self-actualizing individuals are not usually partial and incomplete (D-cognition), but their experiences are mostly seen as a whole (B-cognition). |
