		Town Planner Hellyn Riggins stated that she is trying to establish guidelines and a checklist for all departments to review projects and offer comments to be sure that no phase is overlooked.
		Town Planner Riggins noted that this is one project where her request for a checklist would be valuable in being sure that no items are overlooked.
		Town Planner Riggins asked that Chairman DeLorenzo set up a committee meeting with her to brainstorm and make a list of topics to work together on.

		Town Engineer Kurt Weiss was present to discuss his review dated January 30, 2001 indicating the need for the applicant to coordinate with the Town Manager on the moving of a gate across the driveway for access to the Town property at the rear of the applicant’s property.
		Planner Zebb submitted into the record a letter dated January 17, 2001 addressed to Town Engineer Kurt Weiss from Attorney Pietrosimone of the Town Attorney’s office, indicating the applicant has to provide the Town with proper information regarding proper easement from the owner of the land on which a detention basin is located.
		Town Planner Zebb submitted and reviewed her memo dated February 1, 2001 highlighting issues to be discussed by the Commission.

		Town Planner Riggins noted that this request has to go to the Inland Wetlands Commission first and then would be re-routed to the Conservation Commission after the wetlands review.
		Town Planner Riggins agreed to forward that question and whether the Bio Filter conforms to the 2003 Sedimentation and Erosion Regulations.

		After the town board voted to start an educational process about the accessory barns, one commissioner's wife went up to Morton after the meeting to tell him she appreciates what he is doing to clean up the town.
		Town Administrator Bill Vance said the town board hired Morton because of his vast amount of professional experience of supervising people and running a department, his roots in the town and the stability he will give the planning position.
		It's important for the town to have someone to devote time to the planning and zoning of the town, the administrator said.

		The Town of North Providence has no immediate plans to purchase the 15-acre Camp Meehan property adjacent to Governor John A. Notte Park, Mayor A. Ralph Mollis said yesterday.
		The mayor said that he is looking to make a bond proposal to the Town Council in the near future, but it is still too soon to say what would be included in the proposal.
		The town is also looking to finance the construction of a new facility for the Department of Public Works, another possible item for a bond issue.

		On August 15, the Planner spoke with the Town Manager to confirm that they had received copies of the FIS and FIRM, and to ask if they were still on track for their ordinance adoption.
		The Planner spoke with the P.B. Chair on September 13 and was informed that a public hearing had been set for 10/8/01 and that the Selectmen would soon be setting the date for the special town meeting.
		The Planner informed the Region that the town had adopted an updated ordinance referencing the 8/23/01 FIRMs at their 6/11/01 town meeting, and that it appeared to be compliant.

	Local: Planner contract comes to end for Hampton
		Some in town were not aware of the RPC's position, despite the fact the commission informed the planning board three years ago the situation was no longer a benefit to the town.
		Current Planning Board Chairman Tom Gillick "regretfully" acknowledged that the situation between the town and the RPC concerning the circuit rider was not publicized when the board was lobbying for the warrant article to hire a town planner this year.
		While voters rejected the warrant article for a town planner, they also killed an article that would have made it necessary for every new position to go before a town meeting vote before it is established.

		Barrington Town planner Kirsten Means announced her resignation last week, leaving the town scrambling to replace her before a host of planning issues come up over the next few months.

		De Tolly stated that she feels the Town Council wants to keep it simple and sometimes when it is an issue this important it can’t be kept simple for the laymen.
		Town Planner Lisa Bryer stated that the Comprehensive Plan states that a Bikeways Committee be formed.
		The Planner stated that she will be requesting that the Town Council form this Committee in the near future and that she would be suggesting that a member of the Planning Commission be on it.
