Temiskaming Shores, Ontario is a city in Northern Ontario, Canada.It was created by the amalgamation of New Liskeard, Haileybury, and the Township of Dymond.
Dymond Township is the northern-most region, district, or borough of Temiskaming Shores.
Cobalt, Ontario (population 1,200) - With Haileybury and New Liskeard it was considered as one of the members of the unnofficial conglomerate known as the Tri-Towns.

 Dymond Township History
The townships at the north end of Lake Temiskaming were surveyed by the Ontario Government in 1887, but were not offered for sale until 1893, when Crown Lands Agent John Armstrong was dispatched to the area.
Dymond Township was incorporated in 1901, and two years later, the Town of New Liskeard, which had grown to a population of 150, was incorporated, with John Armstrong as its first mayor.
Dymond Township was primarily an agricultural community, until the 1970s, when a commercial area grew along Highway 11.

While I have yet to find anything out of this world (and while I think Earlton gives them a serious run for their money in the “jewel” department,) Dymond is a nice little township of farms, big box stores, and fast food restaurants.
It is technically the oldest of the three townships, as it was founded in 1901.
Dymond has relied on its agricultural base to withstand the boom-bust economic of northern Ontario, and to this day retains a distinctly agricultural feel…that is, if you get past the strip malls.
