Toyama Prefecture (富山県; Toyama-ken) is located in the Chubu region on Honshu island, Japan.
Toyama is the leading industrial prefecture on the Japan-sea coast, and has the industrial advantage of cheap electricity.
On April 1, 2005, the towns of Osawano and Oyama from Kaminiikawa District and the towns and villages of Fuchu, Hosoiri, Yamada and Yatsuo (all from Nei District) merged into the city of Toyama.

Toyama Stadium is located in the city of Toyama, on the chilly plains facing the Japan Sea coast.
Though the city is relatively small, and has only a local JFL club known as Hokuriku Alo's, Toyama Stadium often is used as an alternate venue by J.League clubs, particularly (for some unknown reason) the Kashima Antlers.
The stadium itself is not particularly unique in architectural terms, but for a multipurpose stadium, it has a very cozy "feel" and when the local fans manage to fill all 28,000 seats, it can be a great football venue.
