		Traianos Dellas was the unlikely hero who headed the decisive silver goal gave that gave Greece a dramatic 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic and a place in the final of Euro 2004.
		Dellas could be forgiven for basking in his own glory after scoring his first ever goal for his country, but modestly turned the spotlight on the team as a whole for shutting out a Czech side that had scored 10 goals in four matches.
		Dellas was a member of the Greece side that lost the European under-21 championship final to Spain in May 1998, but it took him three years to make his senior international debut in a friendly against Croatia in April 2001.

		Traianos Dellas came to Roma after giallorosso coach Fabio Capello was impressed with his defending on ex giallorosso Gabriel Batistuta in a Serie A match with Perugia.
		When Dellas came over from Perugia last season, he had not played a 'high standard' game in over eight months, and was severly out of shape and could not get in the flow of a Serie A type game, he just lacked playing time.
		Dellas has come into this season with a strong preseason under his belt, his early performances this year almost show another player, much more solid and better timing with his tackles.
