For half a century the Main Stud Trakehnen Pelargonie family has lived somewhat in the shadow of its better know "sister" line, that of Peraea 832 who was famous through her sons Pregel and Slesus, her champion daughter Perpetua and among her descendants, stallions like Pregelstrand and Donauwind.
On the dam's side, Pergamon's pedigree also boasts the absolute best Trakehnen had to offer: her dam Perspektive was a daughter of the Main Stud's literally "monumental" stallion Tempelhueter and out of a mare who made history herself, Panna.
But there were marked differences between them: Peraea, a daughter of the Trakehnen stallion Hirtensang, was sold as a yearling to Curt Krebs, Schimmelhof, who saved her on his westward trek.

Trakehner Influence on other Warmblood Breeds
The athletic ability and versatility of this particular breed is obviously a result of its breeding: very early on, the local pony breed, the Schwaike, was used as a foundation, and crossed with stallions of Spanish/Iberian origin, just as much as with true TB stallions that were acquired from England.
While most other German warmbloods of that time were basically derived from draft horses, Trakehners were derived from the opposite, and thus their positive influence during the periods of "establishment" of the modern warmbloods of the world is easily explained.
Even before the end of Trakehnen, stallions from Beberbeck, Georgenburg and Trakehnen were sold Westward to positively influence local sport horse breeding, which was only starting out slowly.
