Transatlantic Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Transatlantic Records was an independent British record label.
It was established in 1961 and its policy was to record and distribute what seemed to be interesting and important at the time.
Transatlantic went on to record folk, rock, comedy and even poetry.

Gryphon - Biography - AOL Music
In 1972, the trio became a quartet with the addition of David Oberle as percussionist, and the following year they were signed to Transatlantic Records, which was then one of the biggest of England's independent labels, with a special emphasis on folk music in their lineup of artists (which included, not coincidentally, Pentangle).
Their recordings were a little more restrained, generally comprising traditional airs, jigs, and dances extended and often expanded into suites running anywhere from seven to 25 minutes.
Ironically, the group's sound on the four Transatlantic albums was so distinctive and accomplished that reissues of their work into the 21st century have ensured the addition of new fans to their ranks of admirers, more than a generation after Gryphon disbanded.

The schooner record has remained one of the last and most elusive of the transatlantic records.
The outright transatlantic sailing record was set by American Steve Fossett in late 2001 in the 38-metre (125 ft) catamaran PlayStation in an incredible time of 4 days, 17 hours and 28 minutes at an average speed of 25.78 knots.

Second hand record dealers inform us that the Nightfallers CD is quite rare and due to limited distribution, few have even heard that Mirage and Reality exists.
Recorded in London and Dublin, the self-produced eleven-track recording lasts just over 36 minutes and fully illustrates Mae's vocal virtuousity with songs in a wide variety of styles.

The roots of Transatlantic Records may have been in the folk scene of the early 1960s, yet it was a genuinely eclectic label.
Transatlantic, on the other hand, was an eclectic affair: the three words that spring to mind as important in its musical direction are ‘artistic freedom’ and ‘intuitive’.
Recorded in 1997 when Castle Communications had re-hoisted the Transatlantic banner, this recording found Amazing Blondel reuniting after 22 years and producing music, arguably, better than their hippie heyday.

Tower Records - Transatlantic Ping Pong [Digipak] * - Glenn Tilbrook
You may recognize Glenn Tilbrook as the man who spent most of his musical career as the voice and co-songwriter of Squeeze, whose uniquely British brand of quirky, sophisticated pop/rock helped make radio listenable in the 1980s.
While Tilbrook's sense of humor is amply demonstrated on such title-says-it-all send-ups as "Hot Shaved Asian Teens" and "Genitalia of a Fool," the aggressive cleverness of Squeeze is largely eschewed here in favor of more direct, emotional lyricism, as he reminisces about childhood friends ("Ray & Me") and seeks to breach interpersonal gaps ("Untouchable").
TRANSATLANTIC PING PONG (named for its bi-continental recording process) displays a more mature but no less inventive Glenn Tilbrook.
