In fact, you probably won't taste the difference between foods with transfats and those without because transfats were usually added to snacks to make them cheaper to produce rather than more aesthetically pleasing.
Transfats are manufactured, meaning they do not occur naturally as you have with the type of fat you find in meat and dairy products.
Transfats contribute to artery blocking and higher cholesterol levels.

  NDP | Layton stands up for families concerned about unhealthy food
"Transfats are found everywhere and are a clear danger to Canadians' hearts," said Layton.
Layton said the NDP's plan is realistic, and based on existing consultation among experts such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, scientists and the food industry.
"Legislating transfats out of food is safer for families than weak voluntary guidelines and confusing labels," said Layton.
