Transformers universes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first Japanese-exclusive Transformers animated project was the direct-to-video Scramble City, a short OVA introducing Metroplex and focusing on the combining teams, playing up the interchangeability of their limbs.
In the United Kingdom, the American comic series was reprinted in a fortnightly magazine which soon began to run the risk of getting ahead of the US and running out of material to reprint.
So to fill in the blanks, original material began to be produced for the UK comic, which began to come into its own after the inclusion of time-travel and elements taken from the future era introduced in Transformers: The Movie.

Transformers Comics Bloopers   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
Transformers are so prone to dying and coming back to life that half the time it's tough to tell whether Heroic Autobot Mudflap was repaired and rebuilt only to be blown away that very issue, or whether some artist just grabbed his model sheet and it was never meant to be him to begin with.
A character might be painted entirely red for emotional emphasis or not painted at all because he's not a prominent part of that scene, but I don't count that as a mistake.
You'll also find at least a couple of trivia questions per issue, some of the quotable and not-so-quotable quotes, and some general thoughts on the story that may not necessarily be bloopers in their own right.

It was a lot of work, but in the end we learned a lot about a possible new Transformers comic and a little bit about frogs.
Each Transformer has there own characteristics and in a sense are their own leader.
But as far as Transformers history is concerned, up to Tranformers G2 everything that happened happened eg, Unicron, the arc, etc. If things happen, it's most likely going to happen in the future.

According to sources contacted by Newsarama, it appears that the first issue of Transformers G1 was shipped overseas, issues #2 and #3 were not, but by issue #4 of G1 (corresponding to issue #1 of Armada), the books started making their way overseas again.
To many Transformer fans who collected the Marvel comics version, the UK series was the forbidden fruit — it was out there, but largely unreachable.
While not as big a deal as Transformers (as the overseas audience for an American military comic is slightly more limited than that for giant robots), Newsarama has been told that the situation has been corrected.

When Hasbro announced on Thursday that it has awarded the next North America license to publish Transformers comic books to IDW Publishing, a not uncommon reaction among the hardcore Transformers fan community was "Who??" Which may well be part of the appeal of the license for the small, but retailer-favorite publisher.
In their first Transformers interview, IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall spoke about why they pursued the license and what it means for them as a publisher, and reveals details about their first ongoing project, including its title and creative team.
In looking back at the Transformers license, like any decades-old property, there was a considerable amount of back story built up, so much so that new fans might have found the idea of a Transformers comic to be intimidating and mostly impenetrable.

In a move likely to take much of the comic book and Transformers fan communities by surprise, Thursday morning Hasbro Property Group, the intellectual property arm of toy giant Hasbro Inc., announced it intends to award the Transformers comic book license to IDW Publishing for a new line of comic books.
IDW may have landed the license at an opportune time as the property with a very dedicated fan-base that includes adults and children is headed to the big-screen in a fall 2006 Paramount Pictures live-action film executive produced by Steven Spielberg.
In addition to the pending IDW comic book license, Hasbro reports Transformers will be available in Readers Digest hard books and chapter books as well as a series of Dorling Kindersley children’s books available in the United States.
