| | Case of the Month July 2002 (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06) |
 | | Transitional cell carcinoma of the right and left ovary with metastases to the omentum, serosa of the small intestine, serosa/adventitia and wall of rectosigmoid colon, posterior pelvic peritoneum, posterior cervical region and lateral portions of uterus, and spleen. |
 | | On the other hand, some experts claim that transitional cell carcinoma of the ovary is a variant of serous carcinoma with pseudopapillary pattern, although the current view favors that transitional cell carcinoma of the ovary is a separate entity. |
 | | Immunohistochemical and pathological studies appear to favor that transitional cell carcinoma of ovary is one subtype of ovarian surface epithelial carcinomas, originating in celomic epithelium (as proposed by Austin and Norris 1987), and is different from urothelial carcinoma of urinary bladder. |
