		While the English translation of the Quran can be questioned, the Arabic Quran has stood the test of time, while a new Bible edition/version is made every year as tectonic translation shifts are still trying to settle millenniums later, over 300 words in the new Bibles are being translated differently from previous Bibles, and counting.
		There are passages in the Qur'an that were revealed that are said to supersede previous passages in the same Qur'an (and the Qur'an was only revealed over a 23 year time span this is a well-known and controversial issue in Islam known as Abrogation.
		Qur'anic verses are then cited to confirm that the various sins discussed in the Bible concerning these men are either not mentioned, or are "corrected," by the Qur'an.

		The early English translations of the Quran by Muslims stemmed mainly from the pious enthusiasm on their part to refute the allegations leveled by the Christian missionaries against Islam in general and the Quran in particular.
		The Meaning of the Quran (Lahore, 1967), the English version of Sayyid Abul A'la Mawdud'i's magnum opus, the Urdu Tafhim al-Quran is an interpretative rendering of the Quran which remarkably succeeds in recapturing some of the majesty of the original.
		Since the translation of this invaluable work done by Muhammad Akbar is pitiably poor and uninspiring, the much-needed new English translation of the entire work is in progress under the auspices of the Islamic Foundation, Leicester.

	Translations of the Holy Quran: Tried and True?
		Those who have tried to translate the Quran from its Arabic original have found it impossible to express the same wealth of ideas with a limited number of words in the new language.
		Comparing any translation with the original Arabic is like comparing a thumbnail sketch with the natural view of a splendid landscape rich in color, light and shade, and sonorous in melody.
		Needless to say, in the case of a second or third hand translation such as from Arabic into Latin or French and thence into English, the result is bound to be still further away from the original.

The articles in the begining of the book give a good amount of information to readers, and the glossary is full of Islamic concepts and worth reading through alone.
