  ROCKZONE.COM: CD Reviews: The Transplants
The most important thing that anyone who hears this album needs to keep in the back of their head is this; The Transplants ARE NOT Rancid, or Blink 182 for that matter, or the Distillers or AFI, even though each of those bands are represented in at least one track on this album.
The whole album can be basically summed up as a punk experimenting with other genres, because the kick ass fuck you punk attitude is heard on every track, either in the music or more obviously the lyrics.
This album is defiantly good if you're tired of all the same music that has polluted so many airwaves today, this is worth a listen, even if you aren't a fan of any of the performers on this album.

After the 2005 blink-182 hiatus Travis Barker has said that he is returning to working with Transplants and Plus 44, a side project with blink's Mark Hoppus and former vocalist of Get the Girl, Carol Heller.

Later on, he admitted that he was joking, and the band decided to leave the album untitled.
It is said that this album represents a "revamped" and "mature" Blink, infusing experimentalist elements into their usual punk-rock, inspired by lifestyle changes (Mark, Tom and Travis all became fathers recently) and sideprojects (Box Car Racer and The Transplants).
The album includes guest vocals by The Cure's Robert Smith on the track "All of This".

Transplants - Transplants - Stylus Magazine
Mixing rap, R&B, dub-reggae and Eddie Cochran-type rockabilly with their punk attitude, the album and it’s 36 songs was the equivalent of the band drawing a line in the sand and leaving the decision up to their fans on whether or not they wanted to cross it.
The debut album by Transplants is a case of plusses and minuses that, in the end, simply cancel each other out, leaving the faint whiff in the air that something perhaps has just transpired.

It is well known now that the Transplants recorded dozens of songs and selected these twelve for their first album.
All this said, I think the Transplants is a very worthwhile project, and I can't wait to hear more from these three guys and their next batch of guests.

The Transplants seem to have done an excellent job mixing punk and rap, and missing out due to bias would be quite a mistake.
Since this album was released on Epitaph/Hellcat and not on a major label or similiar labels, there is no parental advisory sticker on this album, although this would probably have received the rating if on any other record label.

And the Transplants are all about loving different styles of music - hip-hop, reggae, drum 'n' bass, punk - and putting them together while keeping the chemistry right.
For the moment, Barker and Aston are completely focused on successfully launching the Transplants and getting the word out about their new group and album.

 Transplants CD
The self-titled Transplants album represents Rancid vocalist Tim Armstrong's variant on that great rock & roll staple, the side project.
As is often the case with such endeavors by members of famous bands, TRANSPLANTS was recorded bit by bit over the course of a couple of years (presumably during Armstrong's downtime from Rancid).
Though loops and synthesizer are present nearly every cut, the album maintains an agreeably rough-and-ready rock & roll feel.
