 The Vertebrae
The 1st, 10th, 11th and 12th vertebrae have a complete costal facet for articulation with the head of the same numbered rib, lying close to where the pedicle and body meet.
Cervical vertebrae are characterised by small vertebral bodies and perforated transverse processes.
On the posterior surface of the sacrum lies the sacral hiatus, a space formed during the fusion of the sacral vertebrae.
