		The idea is to fit an adaptor plate between the engine and gearbox which has the bolt holes advanced round on one side by about 15 to 20 degrees.
		When fitted the engine remains at the same angle as in its original setting but the gearbox is at an angle relative to its original setting.
		But in a mid engine position: why don't you take the entire engine/transaxle and rotate it around the axis of the crankshaft (by 15 degrees or so) so that the head is angled more forwards and the half-shafts would be more up in the rear.

		I also think that the older engines were overdesigned to ensure reliability, whereas today's designers stress efficiency and take engines closer to the edge.
