 Amazon.co.uk: Treasure: Music
Treasure is a magnificent, if completely alien-sounding album that requires work on the part of the listener, with a few sessions required before the entirety of the album fully sinks in.
Some might consider Treasure to be a difficult album, though I prefer to see it more as an album to come back to time and time again (...preferably late at night...), with each new experience exposing new ideas and interpretations that you perhaps didn't pick up on the first, second or third time.
But when "Treasure" arrived in 1984 it was as if the clouds had parted after five dark years of Thatcherism and the world was suddenly bathed in an all enveloping golden glow.

cocteau twins discography fan reviews Head Over Heels
It certainly does not sound like the album that should have come in between Garlands and Treasure, indeed, it goes against all expectations as to what I thought it was going to sound like (either a sequel to Garands, or a taster of Treasure).
It is perhaps the least 'typical' of the Cocteau's albums, in that it reaches the furthest, explores the darkest depths and screams the most fearfully.
This album, which predates the arrival of Simon, sounds just as good as anything done in later years -- in other words the sound is not dated.

 Ectophiles' Guide - Cocteau Twins
I've been interested in the Cocteau Twins since their debut album Garlands, and they were my favourite band for quite a while in the Treasure era, but I lost them a little bit after Tiny Dynamite / Echoes in a shallow bay.
My favorite album will always be Treasure, but I also liked some of their more recent albums, like Four-Calendar Café.
Their early albums (Garlands and Head over Heels) are a bit rougher and more aggressive in texture and sound and are an acquired taste.

 Mandrake
Used as an aphrodisiac, the mandrake was also variously regarded as a charm for pregnancy, for invulnerability, and for discovering treasure.
The mandrake has traditionally been the object of superstition, largely because of the resemblance of its forked root to the human figure.
As late as the Middle Ages, a dose of the oddly shaped root was sometimes given to patients as a narcotic before surgical operations.

"Eponymous brims with an off-kilter wisdom and warped melodies, a treasure-trove of idiosyncratic rock and roll that will make you smile when it isn't busy making you think.
Eponymous features Washington, D.C. indie-scene denizens Kowtow Popof (Eat My Dust), The Crowd Scene (Turn Left at Greenland), Janna Audey, Rob Santos, Eamon Loftus, Scott Goodrick and others.

The album is a treasure of dark metaphors amidst dangled innocence—none are easily defined.
This artist album is a compilation of spacey, psychedelic ambient trips, awash with chilled breaks and bass.
Bullet is darker, harder and edgier, simultaneously spanning everything from big dancefloor tracks to sonic trip hop by infusing a heavily layered mélange of rock-influenced electronica and industrial-tinged vocals over a strategically chilled, 3am vibe.

National Treasure by Trevor Rabin Cinemusic.net Soundtrack Review
Taking a break from relentlessly slamming National Treasure, there are a few pluses to be found on Walt Disney Records' generous (running thirty-eight minutes, when a simple suite might have sufficed) album.
Perhaps most astonishing about National Treasure is it's thin, tinny eletronic sound, when the booklet clearly credits over 150 AFM union orchestra players, including such notable musicians as Bruce Dukov, Endre Granat, Malcolm McNab and orchestrator Brad Warnaar (in the horn section).
With his derivative and bland score for National Treasure, Trevor Rabin is that composer.
