		Washington, however, demurred, feeling that it was best to live in "peace and amity with all the inhabitants of the earth." George Washington's problems with Spain, France and the pirates of North Africa were left to his successor.
		Washington suppressed the actions of Genet by informing him that the new nation was a member of the family of Nations.

	Indian Hunting and Fishing Rights - Testimony by Jim Buck
		Washington state's treaties were negotiated by Territorial Governor Isaac Stevens in 1854 at the direction of the President of the United States and ratified by the senate as required by Article 2, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution.
		Since Washington State does not have the authority to regulate the commerce, specifically hunting regulations, with the Indian tribes, questions such as the ones I've posed have always been decided by the courts.
		The tribes, parties to this treaty, raise 1000 bushels of potatoes, own 236 canoes and 256 horses and hence the provisions as to pasturing of their horses on unclaimed land and to prevent the propagation of their animals to the deterioration of the American horse [this last word is not clear in the written record].

	George Washington Supported Native Treaties
		Washington was one of the wealthiest men in the colonies prior to the Revolution having married into the rich Custis family.
		Treaties to men such as Washington defined a nation and were not to be casually dismissed, ranking in importance with the Constitution itself.
		Washington also agreed to terms with the Haudenosaunee by affixing his signature to the 1794 Treaty of Canandaigua which bound the US for all time to respect the independent status of the Iroquois by promising never to interfere with the Haudenosaunee’s right to live on their ancestral lands “undisturbed”.

		Washington's advice has been forgotten by the U.S. Senate, which continues to enter into entangling UN treaties that sap our national sovereignty and mold this great free nation into a subservient member of the family of nations subject to the global governance of the UN.
		In modern days, environmental treaties are negotiated by a third party among nations with "common but differentiated" responsibilities imposed to benefit some of the parties at the expense of the others.
		This organization drafts the treaties it wishes to impose on the world, then introduces the treaty through an appropriate UN agency or conference, and then its member organizations lobby their respective governments to ratify the treaties.
