		I primi insediamenti umani, testimoniati da reperti archeologici, in Val Trebbia, risalgono al Paleolitico (prima civiltà della pietra).
		Risale indubbiamente al periodo romano la costruzione di un grande canale navigabile, che partendo dalle foci del Trebbia, passava a nord della città, dove si trovavano strutture portuali (esistenti ancora in epoca medioevale) e si gettava in Po a valle della città.
		La derivazione del Trebbia nel rivo Comune, la presa o "bocca", come si diceva, era posta molto più a valle di quella attuale di Case Buschi, presumibilmente presso Gossolengo o tra quest'ultima località e Mulino Rossia, poco più a monte e a sud.

		THE RIVER TREBBIA The source of the river Trebbia is in the mountains of Liguria, about 30 km far from Genova; the river Trebbia flows into the river Po after a 110 km course across the whole Province of Piacenza.
