	American Tree Farn System - Certification:Certification
		Certification of Tree Farms through the American Tree Farm System (ATFS), under the oversight of the American Forest Foundation (AFF), is the oldest and largest voluntary, third party verification process in the United States.
		It established minimum education and experience requirements for certifying foresters and forest technicians and it developed a national standardized training curriculum for its inspectors.

		Trees are pruned for a minimum of three years so the tree attains that perfect shape.
		Bump the base end of the tree lightly against the ground to verify that the needles are firmly attached and to see if any outside needles fall off (inside needle loss in Pine trees is common every Fall and may lodge against the branches).
		When a tree is cut, if left for more than several hours without water, the tree will form a seal of sap around the base and at that time makes it impossible for the tree to take in water.
