	Treehouse of Horror XV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		"Treehouse of Horror XV" is the fifteenth Halloween episode of The Simpsons, airing November 7, 2004, one week after Halloween in the US.
		In a parody of Perfect Strangers, Kang and Kodos are preparing the Simpsons for dinner for their "boss." Bart and Homer are the main course, Lisa is in a soup, and Marge and Maggie are pies.
		This is the third Simpsons episode to be given an M rating in Australia, and as such its screening on Network Ten was pushed back to 8.30pm.

		Treehouse of Horror episodes usually air one week after the season premiere episode of The Simpsons.
		In the US, the Treehouse is always first because it rates very well, its different here and Ten a few years ago said that the Halloween isnt there most popular eps so they sneak it in the middle of the batch of new episodes.
		In this particular season, the TreeHouse Horror episode does seem to be the first episode of the season in America.

		"Treehouse of Horror" (onscreen title: "The Simpsons Halloween Special") was the first of a series of many Halloween-themed episodes of The Simpsons.
		The Treehouse of Horror episodes generally don't obey the rest of the series' rules of realism, and are not treated as canon, although the first three are set-up in a fashion that they could be considered canon.
		A parody of The Amityville Horror, Bart tells this story, in which the Simpsons move into a mansion which appears to be a haunted house.

		The ending, while perhaps a bit derivative of "Treehouse of Horror II", was also bizzarrely hilarious with lots of great callbacks to earlier moments in the episode.
		While we may never get a truly classic, uproarious Treehouse of Horror again, this was perhaps the first time since "Treehouse of Horror XI" that I can say I consistantly enjoyed one.
		"Treehouse of Horror XV" attempts to be a fun re-invention of the specials, with jokes and characters moving between stories, Kang and Kodos seemingly omnipresent, and opening and closing segments far more "wacky" than segments of old.

		The quality of “Treehouse of Horror” episodes has fallen since season 12’s horrendous dolphins-take-over-the-world plot, and despite a valiant effort this year, the original hilarity has not yet returned.
		A few small jokes about Rosie O’Donnell and the skimpy clothes worn by TV women were amusing, but none of the segments had the overall satirical tone that makes traditional “Treehouse of Horror” episodes so great.

		The "Treehouse of Horror" episodes have a well-defined formula at this point: 3 one-act stories, each usually written by a different writer, with a low-key opening segment and/or premise.
		Although the TOH episode have declined somewhat over the years, they've still found success sticking to the script.
		The sad truth is that all these attempted "improvements", intended to make for a more fun and electic episode, simply come off as embarassing.
