Grey-rumped (Hemiprocne longipennis) and crested (Hemiprocne coronata) treeswifts have glossy, primarily grey plumage with a forehead crest that is 2.5 to 3 cm tall.
Crested treeswift (Hemiprocne coronata) eggs are 23 to 26 by 15.5 to 19 mm, grey-rumped treeswift (Hemiprocne longipennis) eggs are 23 to 24.5 by 17 to 18 mm, whiskered treeswift (Hemiprocne comata) eggs are 12 by 15 mm and moustached treeswift (Hemiprocne mystacea) eggs are 30 by 20mm.
Treeswifts will not travel as far to feed as true swifts (Apodidae) and instead of doing all hunting on the wing, they will perch in an open place and dart from their perch to catch aerial insects.

 Treeswift family
Because treeswifts forage rather like swallows, and have glossy plumage, they were once thought to be a missing link between swifts and swallows, back when swifts and swallows were considered closely related.
As a group, treeswifts occur in a wide range of natural habitats, from mangroves to evergreen hill forests, but all are to some extent dependent on forest.
As to treeswifts, the species accounts seem to be okay but there is only a cursory discussion of the group as a family, leaving one wishing for a lot more.

birding facts Birding Resources by the Fat Birder
The Treeswifts are closely related to the typical swifts and together with the Hummingbirds form the superorder Apodimorphae.
The plumage of the two differs with Moustached being varying shades of blue grey, with a white belly and vent, whilst Whiskered has a beautiful bronze body and white undertail-coverts.
Male Moustached Treeswifts have an area on the ear-coverts which is brick-red and it is interesting to note that in the other species pair, reddish-orange ear-coverts are restricted to the males.
