Trefriw - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Trefriw (pronounced a little like 'Trev-roo', with the emphasis on the first syllable) is a village on the River Conwy in north Wales, lying a few miles south of the site of the Roman camp of Canovium, sited at Caerhun. Evan Evans ("Ieuan Glan Geirionydd") was born at Trefriw in 1795, the son of a former shipwright.
