CFB Trenton played broomball prior to 1970, but the first organized league in Trenton began in the 1970-71 season at the arena on the Base.
A highlight of that period for Trenton occurred during the 1981-1982 season, when Merchants, representing the league as regular season and playoff champions, captured the Ontario Broomball Association Central East Region Championship at Port Perry.
