In the county, the population is spread out with 24.40% under the age of 18, 17.00% from 18 to 24, 28.10% from 25 to 44, 20.80% from 45 to 64, and 9.60% who are 65 years of age or older.

Leister was the daughter of Henry and Barbara Schlafer and was born in the town of Germantown, Wisconsin, January 9, 1853.
The deceased was the youngest of five children that came to Wisconsin in the year 1842 and settled upon a farm in the town of Granville, where that section was an unbroken forest.
In the fall of 1864 he went to Washington to enlist in the Wisconsin artillery, but the command was filled and he returned and enlisted in Company E. Forty-sixth Wisconsin infantry and served until his discharge at Madison, Sept. 27, 1865.
