New Jersey's Camden and Amboy ran one of the earliest locomotives equipped with a bell and cowcatcher, installed the world's first T-rails, pioneered the hook-headed spike and the predecessor to the modern rail joint, and was the site of North America's first head-on collision in 1836.

New Jersey Transit's River LINE (yes, the second word is officially all upper case) extends about 34 miles from Camden (across the Delaware river from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) to Trenton (the state capital).
It is widely viewed as a political pork-barrel project, the result of southern New Jersey state legislators insisting that New Jersey Transit undertake some kind of major capital project in their area after building the Hudson-Bergen light rail line and other major projects in the northern part of the state.
NJT first investigated a different corridor out of Camden that had much better ridership potential, but local opposition killed that project, and so NJT ended up with the more lightly-populated Delaware River corridor.

At the Newark International Airport train station, nothing says anything as simple as "This Way to the Airport." So follow the "Station" signs, which lead you up a flight of stairs (or an elevator or escalator) and into the Amtrak/NJT station.
It's not a zippy monorail or a smooth commuter-train right to the station entrances, but it worked two decades ago and it works now.
Amtrak's Northeast Corridor runs directly to Newark and Baltimore / Washington, and SEPTA's Airport Line (R1) leaves from 30th Street Station and other Center City stops, with four airport stations that cover the spread of terminals at Philadelphia International.
