Incidentally, after the tribe of Gad was carried into captivity, at the same time as the other tribes of the northern kingdom, by the Assyrian King Tiglath-Pileser (1 Chronicles 5:26) and during the time of Jeremiah (49:1), the cities of the Gad were re-inhabited by the Ammonites.
