A Tribute to the Movie Lemming
We watched the X-Files Movie very recently and were treated to two surprises that we normally only experience during bad movies (Lost World, Batman and Robin, Waterworld, etc.).
Movie Lemmings, unlike their more sensible animal counterparts (who are really driven into the ocean by population pressure as opposed to bad writing), don't always die in large groups but they always manage to leave common sense and self preservation behind.
Those characters are not in the movie to provide dramatic tension, to symbolize something deep and significant about the human species, or even to give us a sense of pathos or catharsis that a good story is supposed to provide the audience.

Stevens Point Journal - Trivia 34 movie will be 'Tribute'   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Organizer Jim Oliva said this movie was his second choice; he wanted but failed to get "The Magnificent Seven," because it contains the answer to the last question of the 2002 contest, "What is the occupation of Ern Berk?" However, Oliva said he was satisified with the second choice.
Another reason Oliva said he chose "Tribute" is that the film has played almost exclusively at film festivals, which will make it harder for Trivia players to get their hands on the film ahead of time.
The movie is the first event in what organizers say is the world's largest trivia contest, which runs for 54 consecutive hours from 6 p.m.

The Movie Pal Tribute to Jimmy Stewart
TRIBUTE TO Jimmy Stewart is one of the few male actors whose performances can make me cry.
He was the last of that rare breed of male stars whose careers certified the star system as it operated virtually from the beginning of the sound era.
Other later movies included "Broken Arrow," "The Far Country," "Strategic Air Command," "The FBI Story," "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," "How the West Was Won," "The Flight of the Phoenix" and "The Shootist," a 1976 valedictory to the career of a longtime friend, John Wayne.

I do remember when the movie came out, and sort of realizing "what I had done." That when my parents called their friends, it might not be the most flattering portrayal of their son.
Interestingly, I've been in more than half a dozen movies and at the time it never occured to me to save props or memorabilia, but for some reason I just got lucky because BOD is certainly my most remembered movie that I was ever in.
I'll never forget it, the movie was like five or seven minutes longer, and the audience reaction was pretty good, but it wasn't that good.

the people most folks "love to hate." Their opinions were relegated to the newspaper, and, they were usually over the average reader's head, full of film theory and references to movies that haven't seen the light of a projector in forty years.
Much like a theatre or literary critic, it was often thought that movie critics were failed screenwriters or directors that decided to pick everyone else's work to shreds to get even.
Their TV show became one of PBS's most popular ventures, and, of course, their phrases "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" are now a part of American culture.

Tribute bands, in general, creep me out more than Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest.
Watching grown men in their forties stuff themselves into latex and leather, paint their faces with goofy KISS makeup, and strut around on a tiny stage in a redneck bar is just plain disturbing.
What’s even more disturbing are the psychological dangers of assuming the role of Gene Simmons in a KISS cover band, the backstabbing that occurs between two rival Monkees tribute bands, and a Journey cover band performing at a local strip club.

Not that there were ever any failures on her part, it was simply that, for many years, producers couldn't imagine Tandy as the star of a major Hollywood movie.
This superb actress began her film career at the age of 22 as a maid in the 1932 British musical, "Indiscretions of Eve".
And, as she and her much-loved husband showed in one goofy interview, when they pretended to be breaking up in front of a national audience, she did it with a smile.

Loretta Young | Actresses | Movie Forum
Starting out as a bit part player in her youth, Loretta Young worked through the silent age (one of those bit parts being in 'The Sheik') and toiled through the 30's in roles that never really got her anywhere.
Once she entered into a contract with 20th Century Fox in the mid-30's, her career took off, particularly with hit movies such as 1935's 'Call of the Wild' (during which she began a noted relationship with Clark Gable) and 'Kentucky' (1938), opposite Richard Greene and Walter Brennan.
When it appeared her movie career was waning, Ms Young moved straight into the new medium of television and became one of it's pioneers, with her anthology program 'The Loretta Young Show', for which she won numerous Emmy's.
