DataShuttle - Triggering - Adept Scientific plc - The Technical Computing People
Softwarebased triggering differs from the modes described above because the readings, analogue, digital, or counter, are interrogated by the PC to detect the trigger event, not in the hardware as described above.
The advantage of this mode is to permit triggering based on more complex situations, such as on a specific temperature, which was derived from the acquisition of at least two analogue measurements, plus the calculation of the measured temperature using linearization algorithms.
Specifically, when software-based triggering is employed, and the PC detects that a trigger condition has occurred, (which may be thousands of readings later than the actual occurrence of the signal), the DataShuttle/2000 driver automatically looks back to the location in memory where the actual trigger-causing measurement occurred.

A computer (10) is programmed to determine the reference data used for the triggering, preferable according to the signals from the sensors (Ci) acquired during the previous emission cycles and validated in order to check whether their form and/or arrival times are within fixed limits.
The triggering times are selected with precision in view of the particular layout chosen for the emission array in order to obtain a powerful and directional source.
It is a matter of obtaining, by selecting the triggering times of the different sources, the phasing of their main respective peaks in a certain direction.

Normally, the trigger position is set to the middle so that an equal number of samples occurring before and after the trigger sample are in memory.
When a sequence level is executed for a sample and its conditions are not met, then the logic analyzer acquires the next sample and executes the same sequence level.
Trigger functions are commonly needed building blocks that can be combined to set up a trigger sequence.

The static stress change triggering model, however, can't explain the first month of the Northridge aftershock sequence, or any subset we tested, significantly better than it explains a set of random events (Figures 1c and 1d.
The difference in the performance of the static stress change triggering model between the Landers and Northridge sequences implies that it may be a useful model only in zones of weak crust and low shear stresses, such as the Landers area (Hauksson, 1994).
The poor performance of the static stress triggering model for the Northridge sequence and presence of many Landers aftershocks not consistent with static stress change triggering imply that other triggering mechanisms are also involved.

The results were also averaged to attain a global view of the performances of the whole wavelet group according to every sequence (Table 3) as well as the performances of each individual wavelet regardless of the sequence type (Table 4).
For the IRSE sequence, which is the most contaminated, the detections were less efficient with, however, no false detection but a few missed peaks, therefore slightly extending the image acquisition duration.
However, later applications of the method for very complex sequences might necessitate the use of other wavelets such as the biorthogonal ones, which have already been suggested for QRS detection in extreme conditions and for intensive care patients [37].

Initiation of the ecdysis behavioral sequence in insects requires activation of the central nervous system (CNS) by pre-ecdysis-triggering hormone (PETH) and ecdysis-triggering hormone (ETH), which are released from the Inka cells of the epitracheal glands.
Injection of either PETH or ETH alone is sufficient to elicit the entire ecdysis behavioral sequence through the direct action on abdominal ganglia; cephalic and thoracic ganglia are not required for the transition from pre-ecdysis to ecdysis behavior.
Ecdysis of intact larvae is associated with the central release of eclosion hormone (EH) and elevation of cyclic 3',5'-guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the ventral nerve cord.

This sequence is not associated with any known volcanic or geothermal region like the 1980 Mammoth Lakes sequence, or the northwestward progression of cross-fault ruptures as within the Brawley seismic zone from 1979 to 1987 (Hudnut et al., 1989).
There was also apparently minor slip triggered on faults 15 km to the north and 25 to the east, causing surface cracking similar to the epicentral area (Ramelli et al., 1994).
The complexity of the dynamic strains and lack of a clear mechanism for the delays and the triggering in general might be seen as unfavorable factors for this hypothesis, but given the evidence that this kind of triggering occurred after the Landers earthquake, we cannot discount the hypothesis.

Triggering is a common function of most plug-in Data Acquisition devices and is often used to start and stop acquisitions.
If the acquired value is less than the trigger level and the previous value is greater than the trigger level, then the trigger has fired and a value of “true” is sent to the stop condition of the While Loop.
A new trigger type could easily be inserted by simply adding a new value to the Trigger Type enum, adding a new case in the case structure, and creating a new subVI for that trigger type.

However, if you're triggering the objects live, then you're unlikely also to be sequencing those same objects from an Arrange-window track, so the time position of those objects in the Arrange window is irrelevant.
One approach is to arrange the MIDI sequences end to end on the appropriate tracks, then drag each sequence to a key in the Touch Tracks window.
Typically you would assign sequences for the same instrument to adjacent keys, and assign each of those keys to the same group, so that at most one clip for each instrument would play at a time.

A sequence of frames within a given recorder thus corresponds to a time-correlated sequence of separate recordings of the same set of selected process variables (channels and bits).

Tools are needed not only to search these databases for specific "query sequences" (i.e., a sequence that one might obtain from an unknown gene in a lab), but also to find sequences that show similarities to these sequences.
Finding and quantifying similarities between sequences enables scientists to predict evolutionary relationships and potential function of these sequences (sequences that are useful to an organism will be highly conserved throughout evolution).
In order to search the target sequence, BLAST first constructs "words" from the query sequence (the length of these words is specified by a parameter called w and is usually 3-4 for amino-acid sequences and > 11 for nucleic acid sequences) and then searches the target sequence for matches using these words.

Tailor-made cancer drugs: Wave of the future?
Taylor's system is built on three components: a "prodrug," or a dormant form of a drug; a catalyst that activates the prodrug; and a nucleic acid triggering sequence, designed to match and interlock with a unique or uniquely overexpressed strand of RNA in cancerous cells.
Although the medication might encounter healthy cells in its travels, it would not harm them because the RNA triggering sequence would not be present, or else present in a much lower amount, and the drug could not be released.
In related work, Taylor said he will be using overexpressed RNA sequences to help target drugs in research with Washington University colleague Karen Wooley, Ph.D., associate professor of chemistry, and other collaborators.
