These triose phosphates can be utilized in respiration, in the synthesis of other molecules in plants such as lipids or for synthesis of sucrose.
While this may be true in the light, the export of assimilate from transient starch turnover in chloroplasts in the dark appears to be predominately in the form of glucose as indicated in these studies.

Triose phosphate isomerase (TIM) was selected to represent intramolecular oxidoreductases that catalyze the oxidation of one part of a molecule by the reduction of another part.  In glycolysis dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (GAP) are readily interconverted for glycolitic purposes.
Deficiency in triose phophate isomerase leads to high levels of dihydroxyacetone which can cause severe anemia and neourmuscular impairment.
The TIM barrel enzymes usually have the active site at the C-terminal end of the beta-barrel and triose phosphate isomerase is no exception.

Thus it would be expected that increased sucrose phosphate synthase would increase photosynthesis up to the point that triose phosphate formation becomes limiting.
