 Triumph 2000 development story
The Triumph 2000 was officially unveiled in October 1963 and the press and public, alike took it to their hearts in a big way.
The Triumph 2000 estate had one undoubted advantage on the marketplace: Rover did not produce an official estate version of the P6, the only way buyers could get hold of a P6 estate was via the Crayford engineered version.
The Triumph 2000 was a case of being the perfect product at the right time, and its 13-year life demonstrated perfectly, the way that the British could build a car of enduring quality and timeless style in a package that customers actually wanted.

Motorcycle Online: 2000 Triumph Sprint RS
Triumph sells on tradition, not in the same way as Harley, who consistently ape the days of yore with even their most up-to-date bikes, but by selling modern bikes with an old name, a name that is carved into the psyche of those 40-year-old bikers, be they "born-agains" or not.
Triumph knows that this name must be backed by the qualities that this market demographic seeks in a motorcycle: It has to look good, it has to be easy to ride, it has to be fast -- but not too fast -- and it has to be dependable.
Triumph has worked hard on the bike, incorporating lessons learned on previous model ranges, and it's a mark of their success that in a few short years the new factory has come up with a line that can be counted as a serious contender to the Honda VFR800, a long-established, competent and very successful motorcycle.

 My 1966 Triumph 2000

Triumph produced several four-seater cars like the large 2000 and 2500 saloons (British word for sedan), the stylish Triumph Stag, the small Herald and Vitesse, and the lesser known sedans like the Mayflower and the Dolomite (to name a few).
The Triumph 2000 was advertised as a "Family Triumph" 5-passenger 4-door sedan but has the same engine and carbs as the sporty GT6.
This 2000 has been driven a lot and is not perfect but I will be working on continuing the previous owner's improvements as money and time permit.

CanadianDriver: Motoring Memories - Triumph 1800/2000 Roadster, 1946-1949
It was decided that Triumph would produce two new cars after the war, a roadster and a sedan, both based on the same running gear.
The Triumph 1800 Roadster, as it would be called in spite of its wind-up windows, was heavily influenced by the styling of the 1930s.
In the 2000 the four-speed transmission was replaced by an all-synchro three-speed, still with column shift to facilitate three-abreast seating.

 MCN Review May 26th, 1999
Triumph confirmed the bike is on the way after MCN spotted it undergoing secret shakedown tests near the Leicestershire factory.
Triumph insiders have also revealed that the naked bottom half of the bike is a deliberate styling cue to appeal to riders in Europe and the U.S. where many riders like to see the bike's engine.
But as previously reported by many sources, Triumph won't be producing hard luggage for the bike as it doesn't think it will suit the image it wants for the RS - and also as expected, the ST hard luggage won't fit the new bike.

Triumph was making a name for itself with its sports cars across the Atlantic, so in 1957, the Standard Ten saloon was marketed in the U.S. as a Triumph TR10, clearly borrowing some of the newly won reputation of the Triumph marque.
But many Triumphs of this era were unreliable, including the 2500 PI with its fuel injection problems, and the poor quality of the TR7 and TR8 sports cars, which killed the marque in the United States.
The Triumph name disappeared in 1984, when the Acclaim was replaced by the Rover 200, which was also simply a rebadged version of Honda's Civic/Ballade model.

Triumph 1300 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Triumph 1300 was a medium/small 4-door saloon car made by Standard Triumph under the control of the Leyland group.
Produced from 1965 and intended as a replacement to the popular Triumph Herald, it was re-engineered in the 1970s to become the Dolomite range.
The 1300 was well-made and sold reasonably well in the small luxury sector, but Triumph never produced another FWD car; even more significantly, from 1970 the 1300 was re-engineered as a rear-wheel drive car and went on to form the core of Triumph's compact range as the Triumph Toledo and Triumph Dolomite.

Triumph 2000 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Triumph 2000 was a mid-sized automobile produced in Coventry by the Triumph Motor Company between 1963 and 1977.
There were entry-level 2000 models, which were the most plentiful, but the remainder of the range consisted of 2500, 2500 TC and 2500 PI models.
Apart from the PI models, all Triumph 2000 and 2500's had twin Stromberg or SU carburettors, so the 'TC' designation is confusing.

Triumph Stag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The car started as a styling experiment literally cut and shaped from a 1963-4 Triumph 2000 pre-production saloon, which had also been styled by Michelotti, and loaned to him by Harry Webster, Director of Triumph Engineering from the early to late 1960's.
Under the direction of Harry's replacement, Spen King in 1968, the new Triumph OHC 2.5 PI V8 was enlarged to 2997 cc (3.0 litre) to increase torque and the troublesome fuel injection dropped in favour of dual Zenith-Stromberg 175 CDSE carburetors to meet emission standards of the target market - USA.
As in the Triumph 2000 model line, monocoque construction was employed, as was fully independent suspension—MacPherson struts in front, semi-trailing arms at the rear.

Well known today by many as the car driven by Bergerac in the 1980's BBC television detective series of the same name, the Triumph 1800 Roadster was introduced in 1946.
A notable feature of these cars was the rear dickey seat, which provided occasional seating for two extra passengers and folded up out of the boot compartment complete with windscreen.
In 1948 the car was updated into the 2000 model and the old 1776cc (Jaguar) engine was replaced by 2088cc Standard Vanguard engine.
