		Triumph of the Will (German: Triumph des Willens) is a documentary and propaganda film by the German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl that chronicles the 1934 Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg.
		Triumph of the Will was released in 1935 and rapidly became one of the best-known examples of propaganda in film history.
		Triumph of the Will premiered on March 28, 1935 at the Berlin Ufa Palace Theater and was an instant success.

		Although 'Triumph of the Wil'l was indeed about the Nuremberg Party Congress, preparations for the rally were carefully constructed around the preparations for the film.
		'Triumph of the Will' is un-equalled as propaganda and is, according to the historian Professor Robert Wistrich ‘...the supreme visualisation in cinematic form of the Nazi political religion.
		At her trial after the war Leni Reifenstahl was acquitted of war crimes on the grounds that Triumph of the Will only depicted what other German newsreels of the time had also shown of Nuremberg and that she had not falsified or constructed anything in her film.

		Like the fascists it monumentalizes, Triumph of the Will overlooks its own weaknesses--at nearly two hours, the speeches tend to drone on, and the repeated visual motifs are a little over-hypnotic, especially for modern viewers.
		There are those who will argue that the film is more Nazi propaganda than a historical document, and while it can't be denied that its purpose was to deify the greatest evil of the 20th century, it also can't be denied that from a simpler perspective it is a masterwork of cinematography and documentary filmmaking.
		I had Triumph of the Will on video prior to obtaining this DVD and the video's visual and audio quality was poor.
