Users should be aware that they are working in a public environment shared by people of varying ages and sensibilities and should refrain from the use of internet sounds and visuals which might disrupt the ability of others to use the library and its resources.
Any person under the age of 30 who desires to use an unrestricted workstation may be requested to provide official identification to a Library staff member to prove their age, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian who appears to be older than 30 years old.

 Troy Public Library
The Troy Public Library was conceived as a demonstration of the integration of art into architecture, and is truly indicative of the remarkable design and construction achieved by American society in the late 19th century, aptly called the American Renaissance.
By 1905, the library had made all the necessary changes to its book classification and circulation systems to qualify for a charter from the NY State Education Department[?] allowing it to function as the public library for the City of Troy.
In an effort to address this problem, the Library Board of Trustees elected to petition the state legislature to create a special library taxing district in the City of Troy for library service in 1990.

The Troy community library was opened in the summer of 1977 and was originally located in an office building on Main Street near the fire station.
A lot was donated by Key Bank of Idaho and a new library building was constructed with generous donations from Chet and Violet Whittaker and fund-raising efforts of the Friends of the Troy Library.
The library, with its red brick exterior and arched windows facing onto Main Street, is an inviting and welcoming place to visit.

"This is a public hearing for the council to obtain comment on where people believe CDBG funds should be spent over the course of the next five years," Council President Marge DerGurahian said.
Copies of the plan are available for review at the Troy Public Library, offices of the Troy Housing Authority and the Department of Planning at City Hall.

The South Troy Brownfields Pilot Program is an EPA funded program designed to encourage the reuse of abandoned, deteriorated and underutilized industrial and commercial sites located along the South Troy Working Waterfront.
The City is hosting a public meeting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Polish American Club (507 First Street), to present the final Remedial Alternatives Report to the public and discuss its recommendations.
